Downloading those free utilities should be easy – right. But no so fast. I see a lot of infected PCs and one of the common denominators is junk software that is inadvertently downloaded when you’re just trying to get that free utility recommended by your kids teacher. It’s getting worse every day since software suppliers are getting increasingly greedy.
So what’s the answer? Being vigilant is part of the solution but there is always some risk. The folks at Maximum PC Magazine have an excellent article here. It’s worth reading thoroughly before your next download.
